This project emerged as a result of a United Nations open
call in Mexico, which aimed to create an interactive space
for exchanging knowledge between various UN agencies
and visitors at the International Book Fair of Guadalajara
2018 - Mexico's largest event of its kind.
The concept behind the space was to provide three key
moments that would shape the visitors' experience at the
United Nations stand.
At the onset, an interactive facade featuring movable cubes
allowed visitors to engage with three crucial components of
the United Nations: the 17 Sustainable Development Goals,
the General Assembly, and a tribute to the great Kofi Annan.
To complement the facade, we included a wide bench
where visitors could rest and take a breather if needed.
The second moment of this journey was upon entering the
open space, where visitors could discover a variety of
activities performed by participating agencies, encouraging
knowledge exchange among all involved.
The final moment was a fond farewell to the stand, marked
by a second interior facade designed as a perfect photo
background. Drawing inspiration from traditional ephemeral
street markets in Mexico, the structure provided an ideal
backdrop to capture memories of the experience.
Overall, this UN initiative provided a unique and engaging
way to promote knowledge sharing while leaving a lasting
impression on visitors.
